Find Your HorseSenseSM!

EAPD (Equine Assisted Professional Development)

Horse SenseOur HorseSenseSM program provides a safe, open environment for exploring, through experiential learning with horses, many of the behaviors, attitudes and responses that influence the quality of our personal and professional lives.

It is based on the relatively new field of Equine Assisted Professional Development (EAPD).

As we observe horses interacting with each other and as we enter into our own interactions with horses, we learn from them. No longer able to rely on our skills of verbal persuasion, our positions of power, or our reputations, we reconnect with our own innate “horse sense,” and become more acutely aware of ourselves and others, physically, emotionally, and psychically. This heightened awareness of “presence” – ours and others’ – paves the way for stronger relationships, better collaboration, and improved communication.

Through non-mounted, hands-on exercises with horses, participants in our HorseSenseSM program experience at whole new levels of awareness the ways in which we comport ourselves and the messages we put out, intentional or otherwise. Each program is designed around one or more fundamental principles in how we lead, follow, communicate, and connect with others. Debriefing sessions with the group help participants recognize and internalize the lessons learned by exploring direct parallels between what happened in the arena and what happens to them in "real life," whether on an individual basis, as a team, or as an organization.
